Features of the Summer Baby Sleeping Bag
The sleeping bag or sleep sack is one of the best options for keeping your baby warm whilst sleeping during their first few months, as it maintains the ideal temperature and there’s no risk of them kicking off the covers or getting cold during the night. For maximum comfort for the baby and convenience for parents, Petite Marmotte’s sleeping bags have the following features:
- They are very soft, cosy and roomy, giving the baby freedom of movement.
- For parents’ convenience, they open with a full-length front zip to make nappy changes easier.
- The fabric is soft and pleasant to the touch, with a light feel. As they are made from organic cotton, we prevent skin irritation or allergies in your baby, as well as excessive sweating during the warmer months.
Why choose a baby sleeping bag?
From newborns right up to one year of age, it is best to avoid blankets or sheets that could slip over their face. The baby sleeping bag or sleep sack is the option that ensures your little one sleeps safely, as there is no risk of them covering their head with anything, and it also allows them to move and kick about during the night without uncovering themselves or getting cold.
During the summer months, it may be warm at the start of the night, but it often cools down later on, and that’s when the risk of catching a cold is greatest. That’s why we recommend that babies sleep in a sleeping bag suited to the temperature in their room.
Baby sleeping bags made from GOTS-certified organic cotton.
As well as the features of the sleep sack itself, the materials and fabric are also important. At Petite Marmotte, we always opt for GOTS-certified organic cotton, resulting in garments that are supremely soft and comfortable, free from toxic or harmful substances, and highly breathable.
The TOG rating of baby sleeping bags:
TOG is the measure that determines a garment’s thermal resistance, another key factor when choosing a sleeping bag: the higher the TOG, the warmer the garment will be. The Summer Sleeping Bag has a TOG rating of 0.5, ideal for rooms between 24 and 27 degrees, whilst the Winter Sleeping Bag has a TOG rating of 2.5, perfect for rooms between 18 and 21 degrees. Finally, the TOG 1.5 Mid-Season Sleeping Bag is ideal for use in rooms between 21 and 24 degrees.
